Mumbai Diaries... Water Kingdom, Pagoda!!!

In last 2 years, Mumbai has become my second home. Whenever I feel a little free, I drop into Mumbai to have some fun with friends.

Sadly, in  this 2 years, I have never been to Essel World or Water Kingdom. So, this time I thought to visit any of the two. Water Kingdom was finalized as it's already monsoon and there will be no worry to be drenched in rain (Alas! The day was as sunny as of winter).

We went to Gorai Ferry Ghat, took ticket, waited few minutes in the queue and finally start for Water Kingdom.

The Pagoda looks great from the ferry. So, made a little change to the plan to visit Pagoda first and then water park.

Global Vipassana Pagoda (aka Pagoda) is to serve as a place for meditation to bring the peace of mind. Construction has started in 2000 and will take 3-4 years more to complete as told by authority.

This place represents sheer piece of art.

Inside the main dome, there's large hall for meditation.

After spending an hour, we headed for our final adventure.

Though it's Asia's largest theme water park, there is nothing much to say about it. Except few rides like Rock 'n' Rock Safari, What a Coaster, Rushin Gushing, Humunga-kowabunga etc., rest are below average. The worst part I found is the flow of water through the rides are very low; due to which people got stuck in between.

Most funny incident happened at Bobble-Bogie. I got stuck in between. The next guy came behind; I asked him to rap me and he did so. I moved forward a bit but now he got stuck. Finally, we (4 guys) had to walk down to end of the ride. Simply, disgusting.

The wave-pool was quite good. And we spent a lot of fun-time there. It was a great fun playing with stress ball on the pool.

In weekends, the place become over-crowded. You have to wait in the queue for 20-30 minutes at least for each ride, except "Rushin Gushing" as it's the most nerve-wracking of all.

I found the place a lot below as per hyped; but when friends are around, you can have fun anytime anywhere. So, if you want water park with little adventure, better find other places.

It's 1830 hrs; we are exhausted after all the fun. It's time to stand in queue again but for the last time. It's the queue to board ferry. The evening was pleasant and the Pagoda was looking spectacular in twilight.

Essel World, you are next.
