Puja Parikrama 2012 : Salt Lake, Kasba, Jadavpur, Baishnabghata

Salt Lake FD Block Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

Durga Pujo 2012 for Salt Lake FD Block was about Trinoyon (The Third Eye). Human beings are passing through one of the most difficult times, all of us are marching aimlessly towards a future clouded by futility and uncertainty. We are master in technology and science but there is hardly any in depth study of  spiritual knowledge, we fail to delve deep into things.
The inner eye of man is in a state of hibernation, it is dormant in most of us. The increase in crime and atrocious behavior, the moral degradation of man, the depredation and ravages worldwide  are heralding the rise of evil  and ominous , such negative aspects are considered as the Ashur of modern times but our inner knowledge, our spirituality symbolically represent the divine force of Ma Durga who battle against hindrances and hardships. Our spiritual  awakening is necessary to welcome the auspicious moments in our life. The inner eye is powerful and is capable of incapacitating the negative forces of human life.

Bosepukur Sitala Mandir Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

Bosepukur Sitala Mandir's theme is termed as UTSHOSHAKTI (The Source of Power). Biswanath Dey the theme- maker explains the concept in details. Reciting and chanting the slokas and mantras of Ma Durga makes one feel knowledgeable, divine and causes spiritual upliftment and elevation of the human soul and She dwells within the inner recesses of human psyche in her JYOTIRMOYEE avatar. Mahishasur symbolizes evil and negativity, decay and destruction and hinders development and progress. Man venerates the Goddess by showing profound religious devotion and respect and acquires power to fight against all kinds of turmoil and turbulence.
The wheel of civilization and human power together shall be able to overcome all hindrances by invoking Goddess Durga. Human power is depicted and demonstrated through Rickshaw , a vehicle that is run by  the power of the wheel and power of Man and the source of this power is Devi Durga. Its understood that the winner of last  year's fourteen awards is planning to transfix the gaze of the Bengalees in their sixty- third year again by the dint of their uniqueness.

Bosepukur Talbagan Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

Bosepukur Talbagan in 2012 made their theme on Handicraft of Andhrapradesh. Kalamkari  art, Kondapolli toys, metal ware of Pembarthi are used to embellish the Pandal being carved out of wood and bamboos. The enhancing effulgence of colours and the characters that emerge on cotton fabric, help to create a resplendent spread. Kalamkari art is unique in its use of colour as a medium to portray mythological characters similarly in Bosepukur Talbagan Durga Puja 2012 Kalamkari is used to convey the stories of Ramayanas and Puranas . Kondapolli toys are quite pre- dominant in the world of handicraft.
Nimble fingered artisans carve with aplomb, as characters emerge and evolve from light soft wood but Kondapolli  toys irrespective of its popularity in the world market is languishing under abject poverty and the condition of the artisans is deplorable. Pembarthi metal crafts is famed world wide for its unmatched Brassware  tradition. Bosepukur Talbagan has attempted to give a boost and re-invigorate these popular Andhra arts with the only intention of rescuing these artists from pitiable state and subsequently save the art and artists from being obliterated and exterminated.

Santoshpur Lake Pally Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

With the passage of time and with the advancement, reformation and progression  of civilization in leaps and bounds, it appears that our predicament, tribulation and discontentment have also multiplied. There have been a radical and drastic change in the complexion of  society. Apparently it seems that man has lost his social and moral values because of this fast modern life and to utter chagrin and disappointment, in many situations loss of social values and responsibilities  have also  become noticeable. Society is no longer pure and pristine rather a desolate and barren future is awaiting to embrace us.

The loss of ethical and humanitarian values are gradually  accelerating the process of destruction and devastation. So in order to awaken a deep sense of spiritual conviction and redemption , Santoshpur Lake Pally Durga Pujo 2012 would present Abokkhoyer Andhokare Shantir Stob , it is a simple prayer to Ma Durga  so that She takes measure to re- establish peace, harmony in society and make it a place worthy for living beings, a society where there is  mutual love and respect and people regard the societal and ethical norms and pay importance to the codes of moralities existing in our society. Its about praying to Ma Durga so that she restores our lost virtues and makes life joyful and jubilant.

The Durga Protima  in Santoshpur Lake Pally 2012 resembles the typical idol in ancient Hindu temples. From a distance the Pandal would bear the impression of a lotus but not in totality. The theme maker has added his masterly touches in devising the Pandal structure and  some inspiration from Modern Art has also  been drawn. The Pandal walls are designed with paintings  of variety that are providing appropriate justification to  the theme and the chant of  Om Shanti which is a part of Hindu life and culture shall also be perceived in the Durga Pujo Mandap.

Puja Parikrama 2012 : Khidirpur, New Alipore, Naktala

Khidirpur Pally Sharadiya Club Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

Khidirpur Pally Sharadiya Durga Puja 2012 theme is 'Trilok Darshan' - tour of 'Patal, Martya & Swarga' (Hell, Earth & Heaven). The way to reach at the place of goddess Durga is going through hell and earth. At the entrance of the Pujo Pandal we shall view Hell which is dominated by raw and crude emotions, atavistic fears and instincts, depravity and bestiality. Aluminum sheets and iron are utilized to develop the atmosphere of Hell. Next is Earth that abounds in the vibrancy and vitality of life and loads of green and jute materials are used for creating Earth. Finally Heaven greets us where Gods and Goddesses sit at the top of a mountain shrouded in a clouded mist and cotton and fiber sheet are used to create the environment and feel of Heaven.

Khidirpur Udayan Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

“Save Trees, Save Nature” is the theme Khidirpur Udyan Club. A tree is been made at the center of the mandap with mirror as leaves to show that the trees are part of our family.

Khidirpur 74 Pally Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

Khidirpur Nabarag Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

The lost childhood will be recovered in the puja pandal of Khidirpur Nabarag Sangha. The obsessions of childhood, fear of homework, playing hide & seek, atmosphere of autumn festival would be there, or the sketches on drawing books, colours, expression of a green heart - all the flavours of precious childhood would be there at the puja mandap. So, their theme is 'Aamar Chelebela' (My Childhood). Transparent Japanese clothes 'Tarpedo' will be used to draw and write.

Suruchi Sangha Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

In Durga Pujo 2012 Suruchi Sangha, commented on Sea Pollution using Art and Architecture as the medium and their theme state is Goa. Pollution in the ocean is a major hindrance that is affecting not only the ocean but also Earth. It directly affects the ocean organisms and indirectly affects human health and resources. Oil spills, toxic wastes and dumping of other harmful materials are all major sources of ocean pollution. People should make themselves more aware about pollution of this sort because their knowledge would provide them about the measures of preventing it. Suruchi Sangha Durga Pujo 2012 shall address this problem specifically. Culture of Goa is infused with Portuguese influence. The historic city of Margao still exhibits the cultural influence of the Portuguese who first landed in the early sixteenth century as merchants and conquered it soon thereafter. During the Portuguese colonization local craftsmen played a major role in the development of exquisite furnishings and decorations and sculptures. What Goa's music and dance, arts and crafts, cuisine and festival is today are evolved out of a shared past. This Durga Pujo in 2012 Kolkata witnessed the blend of Bengal and Goan culture in Suruchi Sangha Durga Puja ground.
The main entry gate of the Puja Mandap resembles the tail of a popular Goan fish. Sculptures are carved with the purpose of ornamenting and enhancing the beauty of the Pujo Mandap. Some aquatic animals, school of fish, have been kept and undersea activities shall also be portrayed and illustrated  to provide originality to the concept.  Portuguese architecture which is noted for their typical arch formations will also be seen in Suruchi Sangha Durga Pujo 2012. Ma Durga is being sculpted keeping in accordance with the essence of the thematic content.

Naktala Udayan Sangha Sarbojanin Durgotsav:

The belief that God is present in every little thing is what Naktala Udayan Sangha attempts to express. The 1 CRORE budget mandap depicts the complete life cycle of a butterfly from a cocoon to a caterpillar to a colorful butterfly. The puja is also high on social responsibility, having donated a huge sum of money for children in need of open-heart surgery besides taking care of thalassaemic children.
